The Pretty Reckless' debut album "Light Me Up" is an unflinchingly honest chronicle of front woman Taylor Momsen's experiences, filtered through her unique point of view. The songs, all written by Momsen and Ben Phillips with their producer Kato Khandwala, tell the story of life from love, death and sex to drugs, religion and politics. The songs tackle everything from romantic insecurity, despair and how working non-stop can you make you feel like one of the un-dead. Momsen also pushes back against the haters on "Light Me Up" and asks how far you have to go to get forgiveness on "Going Down."
Taylor Momsen first hooked up with lead guitarist Ben Phillips in October 2008. Mark Damon and Jamie Perkins followed him two years later to round out the group. By the spring of last year, they hit upon a sound that felt authentic to the group. Their second EP was released as an MP3 in March 2012 and includes three more tracks, including the title track "Hit Me Like A Man."
